IGI certification for lab grown diamonds: what you need to know

IGI, the International Gemological Institute, is the leading certifying body for lab-grown diamonds globally. We do not ship diamonds without certification. Each stone carries an IGI grading report, and our internal QC runs before any diamond leaves the facility.

What the report covers

An IGI certificate documents the cut, colour, clarity, carat weight, fluorescence and growth method of a single stone. Growth method and any post-growth treatment are stated on the report, which is the part that matters most for a lab-grown diamond and the part buyers most often skip.

• Cut grade: Excellent to Good
• Colour: D (colourless) to Z (light yellow)
• Clarity: IF (internally flawless) to I2
• Carat weight: stated to two decimal places
• Growth method: CVD or HPHT, clearly noted
• Post-growth treatment: disclosed on the certificate

Our QC runs before certification

Certification is not the first check a stone passes, it is the last. Every diamond grown here goes through a structured internal process first. Technicians inspect each stone for inclusions, surface quality and facet precision. Stones that do not meet grade thresholds are recycled rather than shipped.

Why it matters for compliance
