Emerald-cut diamonds are recognised for their clean lines, elongated shape and step-cut faceting. Unlike a brilliant cut, the step cut does not scatter light enough to hide anything. It places the weight of the stone on clarity, symmetry and proportion, which is exactly why buyers get burned on it.
Why demand keeps growing
Demand continues to grow across engagement rings, bespoke jewellery and high-value solitaire programmes. The refined appearance and strong presence in larger carat weights make emerald cuts particularly popular with luxury brands and designer collections.
- Engagement rings
- Fine jewellery collections
- Designer jewellery
- High-carat solitaires
- Luxury retail programmes

What to specify when you order
Specify clarity higher than you would for a round of the same size. An SI inclusion that disappears in a brilliant cut will sit in plain view through an emerald cut table. Specify the length-to-width ratio too, because two stones at the same carat weight can look like different products on the hand.
- Shape: Emerald Cut
- Faceting style: Step Cut
- Carat range: 0.50 to 20+ carats
- Colour and clarity: D to J, IF to SI
- Certification: IGI certified available
How we manufacture them
We cut emerald shapes from CVD rough, which grows flat and tabular and therefore suits the geometry of a step cut with less waste. Every stone is graded internally before it goes to IGI, and colour-locked lots mean a repeat order matches the first.
A collection that runs for three years needs a stone that looks the same in year three.
If you are building an emerald cut programme, send us the specification and the volume. We will come back with availability, grading and lead times.
